Sayid and his staff were great. Very friendly and courteous. The location is great- right inside the Medina, but a little hard to find by yourself. Strongly recommend contacting the staff to guide you. The hotel itself is like an oasis inside the Medina. It is quiet, beautiful and cool (which helped with some of the hot days we had)

A beautifully restored/converted riad. Unlike some of the others we saw in Fez and elsewhere, the owner of this riad has opted for a simplicity in design and materials that nonetheless feels very luxurious, but allows the original beauty of this riad to shine through. The staff (from the doorman to the owner) were welcoming and helpful but never intrusive, the breakfast in the morning was fantastic, and we enjoyed sitting with a cup of tea or glass of wine in the lovely courtyard areas. Our room was comfortable, tastefully furnished, and quiet. Overall, this was an oasis of peace in the busy medina. Highly recommended.

We both thought the riad was beautiful. The interiors were very Moroccan and the suite we had was very spacious with four beautifully designed rooms. The standard was exceptional and on a par with four and five star hotels in Europe. The manager and staff were all very warm and genuinely welcoming; all were very kind and more than happy to help us with advice and guides. So we would both definitely recommend the riad if you are planning to stay in Fez. Remember to keep some small 20 dhm notes to leave for the local porters who will carry your luggage from the taxi to the riad.

    Fabulous

It's a little Oasis inside the mess of the medina. The staff was really kind and provided us with any need requested.Really good value for money.

The location is very difficult to find. But the hotel staff sent us someone to collect us at the nearest parking.

A little hard to find but that is obvious considering its in the medina of fes! Nothing to complain about it's perfect. Everyone working there is incredibly helpful, botching was an issue. Cannot wait to come back. Recommend to everyone!

    Superb

It was beautiful, luxurious large. Our room was huge the ceiling height amazing! The owner was happy to cater to our every request. Mint tea was refreshingly good. The Harira soup devine! The food overall was totally delicious. The serving sizes were huge. Breakfast was different each morning (we stayed four nights). Each time moutwateringly good, the best orange juice I have ever tasted. You must try the Hamma its a definite must! The view from the rooftop terrace at sunset is stunning.

The hotel is near impossible to find, you definitely need a guide to take you there if you are arriving from elsewhere. Its rather noisy you can hear everything from inside your room, people talking, doors banging, kitchen noise. Our room was on the ground floor right next to the kitchen, avoid this room if you can for noise. The medina is not safe to explore on your own at night so your kinda held hostage by the hotel which is fustrating at times. If you arrive by train do not take up any offers by other travellers pretending to 'have a friend in Fes who just happens to also be a guide' these are gangs of thieves who will rip you off pretending to be official guides. Only use the hotels recommended guides.

We were blown away by the staff, they were thoughtful, kind and incredibly helpful. The riad is beautifully restored and gorgeous. It was my best experience in Morocco.

Dar Bensouda is a stunningly beautiful house that once belonged to the city's most loved Imam. Such was the admiration for this holy man that the Sultan build a mosque for him next door. This place has been fully restored to its glory days and you will get a real power-shower in the spacious suites. No photo can truly capture the magic of the place. When the traditional Riads are very original but with limited common space, this place offers you a lot of personal spaces to choose from. If you decide to spend the day not going out you can simply move with the sun: from the inner courtyard to the roof terrace, with views above the whole old town, and end up in the swimming pool in the second courtyard. The rest of guests were brilliant bunch and very discrete. The food and drinks were all very reasonably priced and tasted delicious - do try their desserts garnished with the most aromatic mint! Delightful experience in the scorching afternoon sun! The service at this palace is second to none - the manager Said, who met us on arrival, was a true gentleman with exceptional manners and knowledge! The rest of the staff impressed us with their polite understanding for personal space and natural grace. We never felt crowded and still never lacked attention! Use the hamam & massage for full recreation - we did just before our departure and felt much better during the busy flight back to London. As it was possible the manager allowed us to check out at our convenience without any talk about extra payment... That atmosphere of generosity and respect made our experience unforgettable one! One must stay at least once in such a breathtaking place and treasure the memories of it for as long as one can! We loved Fes!

    Superb

Dar Bensouda is a beautiful riad and the manager, Said, is very helpful. The roof terrace is amazing and the swimming pool and restaurant areas are very comfortable too. The breakfast was very good and the rooms were spacious and clean.

Fez is not a very nice place to visit. The location of the riad makes it impossible to find and you cannot go out without someone from the hotel. Locals are hostile and they will pretend that they are willing to take you to your hotel if you are lost but they will then ask you for a significant amount of money. They see tourists as money and they are very disrespectful towards women - making comments etc. Be prepared for lots of hassle! We nearly ended up having a fight with two guys...All four of us got food poisoning (salmonella) even though we only went to restaurants recommended by the hotel and by guides that the hotel had arranged for us. We only ate cooked food - imagine what would have happened had we eaten salad! :-) Stay away from Fez at all costs!

Excellent personal service (even guidance through the medina maze). Beautiful location, which is a combination of fine restorations of traditional Maroccan houses and the comfort of modern facilities. Located in te heart of the medina. We would definitely recommend this Riad.

Everything was arranged well. If I have to mention a small dissatisfier it would be the relatively high prices for dinner.

    Very good

Authentic, one of a kind, in the old city of Fez

It was not communicated clearly enough, that you cannot park with your car anywhere near. We arrived at 10 pm and waited for 30 minutes for someone coming to pick us up. It is nearly impossible to get there by yourself. It should be communicated in advance.

    Fabulous

It is the most beautiful thing that I have seen in Morocco!..very recommended except for the position in the middle of medina, very hard to be found – just be sure to call the riad for help..they will send someone immediately. Probably it is better to ask in advance where to park the car or where to arrive with the taxi

Lovely historic Riad, centrally located in medina. Facilities are well presented, pool, courtyards, resting areas, rooftop. The air conditioner broke down on our first night, and the staff had the repair underway the first thing the following day, and worked into the night until 23hrs to replace, which despite the inconvenience of warm nights, was a good sign of their customer focus.

Breakfast could be improved with some variety, especially if staying for several days.

The architecture of the hotel is fantastic, wonderful: Note: 10+. It is really something special. Not the usual boring hotel. G to this hotel if you look for a luxurious arabian palace.

Apart from the architecture which is really great ( A wonderful palace just like a fairy arabian tale ) the rest from food to service is standard: It is not really bad but not something special and not something you would not find anywhere else. In particular I did not like the location of the hotel. It is in the heart of the medina. Very unconfortable to reach with laggages/bags. No map is available. At night it could be unpleasant to get to the hotel. You are bombarded with thousand of requests from money to sex to ( ? )... At daytime it is also not pleasant to go away from the hotel or to get to the hotel. There are no indications, no signals you get lost even if you have a good orientation skill. You have always to find someone local to get from and to the hotel. If you really like the medina then go to an hotel outside the medina and visit the medina daytime.

It is a beautiful place, an amazing rooftop and it is located in the hart of the Medina. The rooms are beautiful and the patio is perfect for relaxing after a long day in the medina.

    nothing it is perfect!
